Vemotion Streaming Server

Vemotion Streaming Server

The Vemotion Streaming Server (VSS) is the hub of the Vemotion solution and connects the Encoders and Viewers to the Network Operations Centre (NOC).

Vemotion Streaming Server is entirely software based and has the ability to integrate with a wide variety of applications, such as Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) software, facial recognition software, mapping software and GPS information to locate vehicles or personnel.

The VSS must have access to the internet to allow incoming Wireless Video transmission connections from remote Encoders to transmit the video and also remote personnel or locations wishing to view the video feeds. Typically, this internet connection can be provided through corporate networks, ADSL or even 3G or 4G via a suitable router. The connection type depends upon the number of live Wireless Video transmission streams and clients allowed to connect to the VSS.

The streaming server can be licensed to allow a specific number of remote Encoders to connect to it. Once the Encoders are connected, then the live video being transmitted to the VSS can be viewed by an unlimited, licensed number of viewers. The VSS is also responsible for authenticating users connecting. This means that a single live Wireless Video transmission stream being transmitted from a remote camera can be instantly viewed by many users at the same time.

The VSS is a Windows based application. The server can be supplied fully installed and configured on a rack mounted or tower machine, or, it can be supplied as software so it can be installed on an existing computer. Vemotion can also offer VSS hosting in our dedicated data centre in London Docklands removing the need for a dedicated customer infrastructure.
